Tyler Junior College announces a new record for the Fall 2025 enrollment

This fall, 12,789 students are enrolled at TJC, reflecting steady growth across academic, workforce, and continuing education programs. The increase highlights TJC’s commitment to providing high-quality, affordable education and training opportunities that meet the needs of East Texas and beyond.
“This significant milestone reflects the trust East Texans continue to place in TJC to deliver on every front — whether equipping students with workforce-ready credentials, preparing students for transfer to the university of their choice, or through our specialized baccalaureate programs,” said Dr. Juan E. Enrollment growth is being seen across a variety of programs, including health sciences, business, STEM, and career and technical pathways. In addition, TJC continues to expand access through flexible online and hybrid options.

Fall 2025 Enrollment Highlights
- Nearly two-thirds of TJC students come from East Texas
- Average class size remains at 18
- 9% increase in students age 25 and older
- 14% enrollment increase in workforce programs, including high-growth fields such as emergency medical services, fire protection, criminal justice, surveying, HVAC, and pre-health professions like nursing, dental studies, sonography, and radiological technology
“Every student who walks through our doors or logs into a virtual classroom is investing in their future,” said Kimberly Lessner, TJC vice president for operations. “This record enrollment demonstrates not only the confidence students place in TJC, but also our unwavering commitment to meet them where they are and provide the support they need to succeed. After celebrating a record number of graduates this past year, we are excited to see this new class of students soar to even greater heights.”
TJC offers more than 120 degree and certificate programs, a wide range of workforce and continuing education courses, and a comprehensive collegiate experience — with the services and support students need to thrive both in and out of the classroom.
