Positive Anticipation
By Glenn Miller
GODโS WORD: โFor I know the plans I have for you,โ declares the Lord, โplans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.โ – Jeremiah 29:11
If youโre like me, thereโs been far too many morningโs where weโve woken up fretting about situations or problems that lay in front of us in the day ahead. Recognizing these things is one thing, but focusing on the possibilities and probabilities of failure is another. Somewhere along the way in our society, we have been taught that in order to become prepared, we must prepare ourselves for the worst-case scenario. While that philosophy has its merits, I believe that we forget to play out the scenarios with the alternative option, success.
Picture in your mind all those things that are worrying you at this moment that you are awaiting the outcome. Picture yourself succeeding. Picture yourself winning. Picture yourself accepted. But take it even one step further and remind yourself that, as a warm and wonderful child of God, you have God in your corner – rooting for you, protecting you, cheering you on, removing obstacles in your path, and even giving you all the energy, intelligence, imagination and love that you need!
If God is for us, who can be against us?
If God is for us, why do we worry?
If God is for us, havenโt we, through the blood of Jesus, already succeeded ultimately?
You, my friend, are destined for great things today. Not because you deserve it and not because your name was drawn out of a hat this morning, but because God loves you and wants all the best for you.
Expect it!
